Rochester, NY--June 26, 2017--The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival 16th Edition continues today featuring  25 Club Pass Series shows, and eight free shows including the annual RIJF/Eastman School Jazz Scholarship Concert and scholarship presentation to five winners. 
  • Free Youth Jazz Workshops sponsored by Wegmans also start today at 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. in Room 120 Ray Wright Room at Eastman School of Music.  No preregistration required, just show up. 
  • The free Jazz Starts at Noon series also starts today at the Rochester Monroe County Library at 12 noon. 
The festival continues through Saturday, July 1 featuring more than 1500 artists from 18 countries and more than 325 shows. It is presented in three series - the Club Pass Series with 230+ shows, the headliner series of six shows and 95 free shows and events. The festival's 19 indoor and outdoor venues all within walking distance in Rochester's East End Cultural and Entertainment District.
 
Other highlights include jam sessions nightly, and two international series, Made in the UK and Nordic Jazz Now

Move to a Healthy Groove - Rochester Regional Health Street Teams will have ear plugs, sunglasses, rain ponchos (let's hope we don't need those) and other useful items.  Look for them walking around the fest or visit the First Aid tent on Main Street at Gibbs.
