Rochester, NY--June 24, 2017--The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival 16th Edition opened with an amazing first day yesterday with a sold out show for headliner Joss Stone, filled clubs and joyous crowd for free shows.  
 
Tonight Maceo Parker and The Ray Charles Orchestra headlines in Eastman Theatre. Tickets still available. The Jerry Douglas Band headlines on the City of Rochester East Ave and Chestnut Street Stage presented by Rochester Regional Health. There's a full lineup in the clubs and more free shows on the City of Rochester Jazz Street presented by The Community Foundation starting at 3:45 p.m. 
 
The festival continues through Saturday, July 1 featuring more than 1500 artists from 18 countries and more than 325 shows. It is presented in three series - the Club Pass Series with 230+ shows, the headliner series of six shows and 95 free shows and events. The festival's 19 indoor and outdoor venues all within walking distance in Rochester's East End Cultural and Entertainment District.
 
Other highlights include a series of Youth Jazz Workshops June 26-30, jam sessions nightly, and two international series, Made in the UK and Nordic Jazz Now
