Live Painting Being Done on Stage to the Music of the Lou Gramm Band

Rochester, NY--June 18, 2014--Rochester's own Lou Gramm, the lead vocalist on all of Foreigner's hit songs, will play with his band at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival Saturday June 21 at 9PM in a free concert on the City of Rochester Stage Presented by Wegmans.

While the Lou Gramm Band is performing, world-renowned performance artist, Eric Waugh will paint live on stage on five canvasses to create a 5ft tall x 25ft long blend of rock and roll and veggies called "Veggies Rock."

The concert is one of 76 free shows at the 13th Edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival Presented by M&T Bank. The festival starts June 20 and continues through June 28 in Rochester, NY. More than 1500 artists will perform in 325+ shows over nine days at 20 venues.

The Lou Gramm Band will play a retrospective of Gramm's work with Foreigner, his solo material, plus personal favorites.

This will be the largest painting Waugh will have created in such a short amount of time. The artist has been in training and preparing for the epic creation for weeks.

Gramm began his musical career in his mid-teens, playing in local Rochester bands, and went on to sing and play drums, and to eventually become front man for the band Black Sheep. With his powerful vocals, he easily got the job with the band initially known as "Trigger," and later renamed Foreigner, became one of the most successful rock vocalists of the late 1970s and 1980s.

Waugh, who is from Montreal Canada, has painted live all over the world with such diverse musical talents as Tony Bennett, John Waite, the Doobie Brothers, among others. His musically inspired artistry delights both art and music lovers alike.

Waugh has specially formulated the liquid acrylic paints and mixed the colors pea pod, tomato, tangerine, espresso, blueberry, grape, pineapple, turquoise, radical radish and vanilla specifically for the painting based on the Wegmans color palette.

The concert is free, no tickets are required. The outdoor stage is located at East Avenue and Chestnut Street in Rochester.

This is the third year Wegmans has been a sponsor of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. Wegmans is also hosting a Veg-Out Lounge for festival patrons to relax, and recharge their cell phones.
