The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival (XRIJF) starts Friday June 21 delivering more than 300 shows at 19 venues and featuring more than 1200 artists. Musicians from all over the world will travel to Rochester for the nine-day event that runs through June 29.

Tune into tonight as Doug Emblidge and Adam Chodak host this prime time special featuring interviews with artists and fans who have been going to the fest for years.

Schedule Update

The Phil Robson Trio will be performing instead of Cleveland Watkiss, who due to unforeseen circumstances in the UK, is unable to perform this Friday night. Winner of the 2010 UK Parliamentary Jazz Awards for 'Jazz Musician of the Year,' Robson is one of the most in demand and versatile musicians on the contemporary, international scene and is also a highly acclaimed leader & composer.

Sensational UK artist Christine Tobin will give the vocal workshop on Sat. June 22 in place of Watkiss as part of the Wegmans workshop series for young musicians at the Eastman School of Music.

Tickets still available for headliners Pink Martini, Roger Hodgson, David Byrne & St. Vincent, and Peter Frampton's Guitar Circus. Tickets very limited for David Sanborn, Bob James & Steve Gadd. Club Passes are still available.

Two Shows Added to Jazz Fest Series for National Broadcast on PBS

WXXI-TV in Rochester will add the Louis Armstrong Jazz Society concert at Kilbourn Hall to the roster of four other Kilbourn Club Pass series shows being recorded live this year for future broadcast nationally. In addition, a 6th show compiled of past performances will also be produced.

Staying up Late for the Jams? Stay Over - Special Rates for Jazz Fans at the Rochester Plaza

The State Street Grill at the Rochester Plaza, official hotel of XRIJF and home of the nightly Jam Sessions from 10:30 PM, has been renovated and now opens up into the lobby. Food and beverage service will be offered in the grill, lobby and on the outdoor patio. If you love the jams and plan to enjoy the full fest experience, you can stay overnight.
