XRIJF and WXXI TV Announce Plans to Film Series of Four Concerts at 2013 Festival for National Distribution on PBS

Marks the 6th Year of the XRIJF and WXXI Partnership

The Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival and WXXI Television in Rochester, New York will once again partner on the national production of a new series of four one-hour programs to be filmed at this year's Festival June 21-29, 2013.

The programs will feature four different concerts in the festival's Kilbourn Series, one of 19 venues in the festival's 12th edition. The nine-day festival will deliver more than 300 concerts featuring more than 1200 artists from 17 countries.

The concerts to be filmed are:

    Gretchen Parlato

    Ravi Coltrane Quartet

    Gregory Porter

The shows will be distributed to PBS stations nationwide this fall for airing later this year and next year.

This is the sixth year that WXXI TV and the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival have partnered to bring live jazz to people all across the U.S. WXXI filmed concerts at the festival in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2012.Since the series was released in 2007, the programs have been seen on more than 200 stations covering 95 percent of the country and it has aired in all top 20 TV markets. The programs remain the most current jazz programming airing on public television today.

"Including this year's recordings we will have created a unique video legacy of 29 live performances that will become a part of jazz history and bring this exceptional music to millions of people nationwide."

All shows at Kilbourn Hall are at 6PM and 10PM. Entry is with the Club Pass or $25 at the door, cash only, no advance sales, no reserved seats, and seating is first-come, first-served for everyone.

In addition to the concerts being recorded, Christian McBride's Inside Straight, Louis Armstrong Society Jazz Band, Alfredo Rodriguez Trio, John Patitucci Trio and Kurt Elling will also be performing at Kilbourn during the festival.
