The festival's 19th edition, originally scheduled for June 19-27, has been rescheduled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Rather than giving up during this time of uncertainty, we are continuing to take a hopeful course and are forging ahead to the best of our ability to reschedule our 19th edition festival for October 2 to 10, 2020. Roberto Occhipinti & Friends

Roberto Occhipinti is one of Canada’ most esteemed bassists.  

A musical chameleon, he has performed and recorded with a range of artists, such as Jazz legends Hilario Duran,Dafnis Preto,Sam Rivers,Tito Puente,Jane Bunnett , 

-Popular music with Gorillaz, Soul Stew,Andrea Bocelli, 

-World Music with Afel Bocoum and Jamey Haddad,  

-Contemporary Music with Osvaldo Golijov, Steve Reich,Tan Dun  and Elliott Carter. 


Roberto has recorded 5 critical acclaimed discs of his own music and has produced albums for Hilario Duran, Dave Young, Dafnis Prieto, The Gryphon Trio, Michael Occhipinti and Bass Virtuoso Joel Quarrington.  

He has won numerous awards including 5 Juno awards,(Canada’s Grammy) SOCAN award for Composition and Ragusani Nell Mondo Premio in 2009 

In his native Canada , he has performed as a side man  and leader virtually every jazz festival in the country, notably at the Montreal,Toronto,Vancouver as well as concerts across the USA ,Cuba,Mexico, Europe ,India and Africa.
