Charlie Lindner Trio and Friends

Born in Rochester, NY, Charlie Lindner is a jazz pianist and electronic music producer active in the local and regional New York scene. Lindner performs his original compositions with drummer Mathew Ramerman and Upright Bass player Kyle Vock. Gravitating more towards fusion jazz, Lindner really enjoys the rhythm and blues style and incorporates many elements into his compositions. Past projects ranged from Progressive Rock (Derelict Brew, 1999), Fusion Jazz (The Move, 2003), Funk and Soul (Macro Meltdown 2008), and Live Electronic Dance Music (The Manhattan Project, 2010). The Manhattan Project proved to be the most successful endeavour resulting in International tours and sharing the stages with big names such as The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Bassnector, Big Gigantic, and many more! Lindner continued his studies of jazz and classical piano over the years with Richard Delaney, Mike Van Allen, and Emma Yun-chieh Hsieh. Most recently, Lindner has pioneered the use of Ableton computer software to manipulate sounds from an acoustic piano in front of a live audience.  Microphones placed in the piano pick up the sound and send it through Ableton where audio effects such as reverb and delay are added. In addition,  Lindner tastefully triggers pre-recorded audio from an “Ableton PUSH” controller for a sprinkle of electronic excitement.  Current concert shows offer an array of styles from classics like “As Time Goes By” to jazz arrangements of the Who and Nirvana. Lindner has also been known to bring random members of the audience on stage unexpectedly and encourages participants to draw during sit down performances.
