On the forefront of the musical movement that combines the palate and instrumentation of 1970's era Jazz Fusion with influences of Drum & Bass and Electronica is Rochestarian band Vanishing Sun.
Featuring internationally touring and recording musicians from a wide range of backgrounds who have performed with the likes of legends such as Chaka Khan, Teddy Pendergrass, and Maceo Parker, Vanishing Sun has embraced an approach that places emphasis on creative freedom and an "anything goes" philosophy in songwriting and live performance.
The result is a truly innovative sound that is at once avant-garde while at the same time firmly grounded in the roots of its influences such as Headhunters and Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Their debut album Supernova includes a performance by six time Grammy nominated guitarist phenom Chet Catallo (Spyro Gyra) and was mixed and mastered by industry legend Robert Honablue.
